Explained - How to get the ultimate stance from your BMW G87 M2

THE PROBLEM

The G87 M2 is an incredible machine, with outstanding performance numbers on paper, which transfers into an equally incredible driving experience in the real world. Something that splits opinions is the styling, but, something that does not is that awful factory arch gap and wheel fitment, it's universally agreed to be something to be fixed. 


ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM

To fix this problem, you need to first address the ride height, and then the track width. The problem is, if you reduce the ride height too much you can introduce clearance problems with speed bumps, and if you space the wheels out too much you can cause the tyre to touch the wheel arch, which is a sure way to reduce your driving enjoyment

Theres a lot of solutions out there on the market, all with varying degrees of ride quality, performance and longevity. On a highly developed performance saloon like the BMW G87 M2,  it's all too easy to add parts that make the driving experience worse. 

 

OUR SOLUTION

At Regal Autosport, we've created a package for the BMW G87 M2 to give you the ultimate stance, combining lowering and track widening, which is proven to be 'rub-free' on the factory wheel setup.  

What we've selected is a combination of the AST ALS kit (adjustable lowering springs) which retains the fantastic factory dampers, and adds on a lowering spring, with an adjustable spring perch. This allows the ride height reduced by 0-50mm, with this colossal range you can tailor the ride height to your specific requirements, ensuring clearance and getting the aesthetic you desire, no matter the wheel combination.

 

Thanks to this highly developed kit, the ride quality is like standard, which is often something a lowering spring or other adjustable lowering springs sacrifice. This kit also comes with a lifetime warranty against breakage. 

With the ride height dialled in, we can look to widen the stance. This is achieved with a set of spacers, 15mm front and 12mm rear. These spacers are hubcentric, meaning they extend out the hub mounting for the wheel, resulting in no vibration and making sure the wheel hub. To match the wide track wide, we supply the kit with longer wheel bolts and longer locking wheel bolts to match... Making this upgrade, the ultimate OEM+ stance upgrade.
